Head coach weekly update

Dear all,

The session tonight for the junior and senior boys will be a 30 minute erg at rate 22. Ellie and Louise will inform the girls what they need to do tonight.

Before I review the last few busy weeks, please see below some events a that are fairly important over the following month:

  • the presentation night is all booked for Friday 23rd September at Chilton country pub, 7 – 12. Tickets are £13 to include a hot buffet and disco. Please let me know if you are interested in staying over and they will do discounted rates. I need final numbers by this Sunday, any tickets after this day will be charged at £15, with the final cut off for payment being Thursday 14th. Please dress to impress, I’m sure we will be in for a great evening !
  • The club is running a mini informal regatta on Sunday 25th September and your support is needed to provide cakes and help running the event, jobs from being a start marshal to safety cover need to be filled. The start time is 9.30 and we should be finished by 3.30. Please be there for 9am at the latest.
  • The sculling series takes place in less than three weeks so entries are closing soon. Coaches are currently putting together crews and we should have two full trailers at each event with focus on juniors attempting to win the overall series prize as we have won the event three years in a row with the seniors. Info on the link below and please if you haven’t already, can you complete the availabuilty sheet in urgently below.
  • Bradford regatta takes place this week and the coaching team have worked hard to give athletes at least one race. Our confirmed entries are below as well as directions etc. Please pay Simon appropriate race fees ASAP.

After enjoying international, national and huge domestic success, the club is now very full of rowers at different levels. Therefore, the winter training timetable and new seasons races will be published this week. As the coaching team is now eight strong, we can focus on giving as much quality time as possible. If you have any questions, no matter how small they seem, feel free to direct them either at myself or your child’s coach.

The club is about to start another adult learn to row course on Thursday and we have seen a spike in junior membership this year also.

Good luck to those junior members who move on to University in the coming weeks and as we have over the summer, welcomed past juniors who have finished their degrees and have returned to the club, you must do so as much as possible.

Thanks for all of your support so far.

Steven
