Dear all,
On Sunday Dean Slater and Joseph Adamson were in Nottingham competing for a place on the GB j16 team and finished 4th in the single, 6th in the pair and 6th in a composite four with two boys from St Paul’s School in London. Though the boys were disappointed not to be selected, I was immensely proud of how they raced and in fact added to the clubs already established reputation at this level. In sport they say you match whatever level of competition is available and the boys certainly matched the supposed bigger and more richly resourced schools like Radley, Westminster and Eton. Both boys should now look forward to the next set of assessments in the autumn where they have now made themselves known to the GB selectors.
Talkin Tarn Regatta takes place on Saturday and the entries are attached with the link to the draw below with directions etc. Please be there at least one hour 15 minutes before boating time to get ready. Unfortunately, I am at School that day, Colin is on holiday and Arran is also unavailable so Peter and the other coaches are in charge. Some entries have been changed on the attachment marked in yellow as some people are unavailable.
On another note, congratulations to Natasha Wearmouth who has been appointed Head of Year at her School.
Many thanks,
Steven
