Head coach weekly update

Dear all,

The session for the boys on the ergs tonight will be 5k plus 2k free rate.

Huge congratulations to both Eve Larsen and Joseph Adamson who took part in the first round of Great Britain Trials for the junior team at Boston on Saturday. Eve finished ninth and Joseph finished eighth overall which marks an amazing start to the trials process. Only one other club had two athletes from both genders in the top ten(Tideway Scullers); both our athletes fended off opposition from big Schools such as Westminster, St Pauls and Henley RC. I was expecting a good result as these two athletes have proved how quick they are but they really ‘smashed the ball out of the park.’ Looking down the list of juniors that we have at the club, the future looks really promising on this stage as at the heart of it is focus on single sculling from an early age. I would have been impressed and extremely happy if we even had one sculler in the top 20, but to get two in the top ten shows how talented these two are.

Rutherford Head takes place on Saturday with details to follow on Facebook as the information hasn’t been released as yet- watch this space:

It looks like the first division starts at 10.30 and the second at 1.45. Please be there an hour before your boating time at least.

There are tickets still available for the Christmas party – please see Bob if you need one.

Many thanks
Steven
