Dear all,
Tees Regatta Success
Firstly, huge congratulations must go to those who worked hard on Saturday both racing and assisting at Tees Regatta. For the third year in succession we won the victor lodorum which highlights how much we have moved on as a club and are now being consistent. As there are too many wins to mention in detail, there were a few highlights with both boys and girls squads dominating from a sculling and sweep perspective. The j13 boys squad are beginning to show improvement with coach Chris Telford claiming another win on behalf of the boys double- as a squad they have now won an event at the lastĀ five regattas and heads since they started racing… Amy Snook won her single, again in j13 beating crews from York and Hollingworth Lake respectively with those two clubs testing some of our more established athletes, which is what we like. Rosie Heslop, Lauren and Felicity also have shown great progression with some hard work on Sunday and Wednesday sessions from Craig and Louise. Adrian Farley also showing improvement on the water in his single won the masters category.
Wansbeck Regatta Entries
Wansbeck Regatta takes place on Saturday as we begin the countdown to Durham and Hexham over the next few weeks. Entries for these regattas have just been submitted and we have been lucky to get crews in at Durham as we entered on Monday night and the system closed entries down early this morning. The draw for Wansbeck is below and our entries are attached along with fees to be paid asap. Please be at the trailer on Saturday at least an hour before boating time. The map and directions are also below.
Sessions and Exams
As it is now exam season for most, we understand that children will miss sessions and as a result we always have an ergo session on the training plan or cross-training if it is a struggle to get to the club. We have sessions taking place on Saturdays when the club is attending regattas so there will always be the opportunity to train.
National Schools Regatta
Bobbi Forster and Joseph Adamson both go to the National Schools Regatta at Eton Dorney this weekend to race in their singles in the Championship event. Good luck to both and we will keep you updated on how well things go on the Sunday.
Thanks
Steven
