Hermitage tonight, record breaking weekend at Durham and Masters, Talkin Tarn and Brit Champs next and thanks to everyone who has helped…
Dear all,
The session will run as usual at Hermitage tonight after the AGM taking certain coaches away last week. My personal thanks go to Julie Wilson, Craig Dowson, Carole Foster and Arran Lewcock for doing a great job last week (who needs us??).
The weekend saw records again being broken so many times that we will have to find some new record books to write in…results below (a choice of):
- The National Master Championships over two days clashing with Durham proved a logistical problem, but we still managed 3 medals, all from singles, Keith Richardson in Mas Nov 1x, Rachel Lombard in Wmas nov 1x and Steven Thompson in Mas A 1X. Some outstanding performances with Keith and Rachel especially training well and building through an event with tough competition.
- Durham Regatta saw the club win 10 events (6 was the previous record) over the two days with some again, excellent results.
- Next up is Talkin Tarn Regatta and then, the British Championships where the club will look to achieve the ‘Grand Slam;’ winning a medal at the 4 major national events of the season, cementing our club as the best in the North (as no one, aside us can achieve this feat).
Well done to all and thanks to all trailer drivers, parents and helpers this weekend.
There will be a notice about the session on the 20th June later this week as there is a cricket match on that may cause disruption.
