British Masters draw!

blade_clsarc_3The draw for the British Masters has now been published by British Rowing. It hasn’t been kind for some of our athletes and they will have very short rest periods between races in some cases.

There are some significant firsts to celebrate here:

  • This is the biggest entry the club has put into these Championships. There are 11 individual athletes attending from the club.
  • There are more crews assembled for these Championships than ever before. We have athletes in 8 different crews.
  • We have four athletes competing in single sculls and for the first time ever two athletes from our club will go head to head in a national final. Both athletes come with good pedigree and a good chance of a medal.

We have never had single scullers at the Championships before and this time we have two in the Championship event itself.

The honour of leading the campaign goes to Keith as he is first to race on Saturday in his 1x eliminator. I’m sure Keith will progress to the final.

I am really looking forward to the weekend and leave you with my favourite quote.

Sometimes the strength within you IS NOT a big fiery flame that all can see.

It’s just a tiny spark that whispers.

“You got this”

Good luck everyone.

Peter.
