Head coach weekly update

Durham Autumn regatta this Saturday, sessions this week, club presentation on 24 October and thanks to Wayne for supporting last weekends Boston Marathon – not forgetting congratulations to the Masters B and IM 4X crews…

Dear all,
Apologies as the session at the Hermitage tonight has to change to the club at 7pm as there is an open evening at the school; the session will resume there next week as usual.

Durham Autumn Regatta takes place on Saturday and as well as the new members racing there, please feel free to come and support us. The regatta is slightly smaller than usual as there haven’t been as many entries from other clubs and as a result there may be a few of you who haven’t got a race. Time for races will be released on the DARC website (as below) at some point this week. Please make an effort to submit race fees to Simon Adamson asap (though he tells me that 3/4 are already in). Attached are the entries that have been accepted and if there is an issue, please call or email me.

Durham Autumn Sprint | Durham Amateur Rowing Club

This event aims to encourage rowers to mix with those from other clubs and to promote rowing at all levels. Essentially a ‘small boats regatta’ to be held towards the end of the rowing season. We hope to encourage participation in the sport by new and inexperienced rowers as well as those up to Intermediate 3 and Masters level.

The sessions at the club this weekend will run as normal.

The annual club presentation night takes place on 24th October at The Emirates Cricket Ground (the big one next to us) and there are still tickets left, so please contact Susan Stark or speak to Bob Young.

Finally, thanks to Wayne Curry for shipping and supporting the Boston Marathon crews to Lincoln last weekend, with the Masters B crew winning and the IM1 4X coming second overall (and thanks to Colin too for helping us pick up and give back the boat we borrowed on our shinny new trailer).

Thanks,
Steven
