Head coach weekly update

Dear all,

The session for the boys tonight will be 7x1k pieces with a 2 minute rest as well as the usual circuits etc.

Congratulations to Joseph Adamson and Eve Larsen who both attended the Great Britain Junior potential camp last week. Although we cannot divulge exact times and positions, they both impressed and performed very well in the racing and put their names as the top of the reckoning for international selection.

Just before Tyne LDS was cancelled, the club won the joint most successful club in the morning and afternoon divisions, with a fastest boat in the SBH.

Durham LDS and SBH are happening this Saturday so there will be no session at the club on that day. The entries are attached and the link for race times and boating is below.

Please be there at least one hour before you boating time.

The club is putting on a Junior learn to row course with limited number, starting on 19th November for six weeks, but places are limited. The course is free. Please share the link below with anyone you think would be interested or ask me for a poster.

We could really do with your help for the following fundraisers.

  1. Aviva Community fund – once registered you get 10 votes, please use all 10 for CLSARC, we could be gifted up to £10,000, use the link https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-2117.Remember that family, friends & work colleagues can vote. Remember to use all your e-mails, work, home etc. This won’t cost you anything and last year clubs needed in excess of 3000 votes to win. I’m sure in a club our size we can mange to get more than this if we ask family, friends and work colleagues to vote.
  2. North East Sport Challenge – We need to raise £2,000, by 13th November, and we get our funding matched by up to £1,000, and could win an extra £2,500 if we raise the most. Use the link below to donate.https://www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/campaign…chester-le-street-amateur-rowing-club-1/
  3. Evening Chronicle – Wish campaign token collection, published every night until early-January. We will get a share of £25,000 depending on the number of tokens we get. There is a box in the club house corridor.
  4. A further application for the Tesco tokens has gone in, please start to collect your blue tokens from any branch that you are shopping in. It will probably be the Sacriston branch this time, but I will arrange to collect them down at the club if that is more convenient for people.

If any one has any ideas about how to promote these events or other fundraising please get in touch.
